GAH!!

I thought they said the rain was finally supposed to stop today. *whimpers* Please, please, please go away, rain. I NEED the sun!!

And how come, after it's rained nearly every day for six weeks, people still haven't figured out how to drive properly in it? I'm really tired of being late for work because traffic is at a standstill.

People's brains shut down as soon as it starts raining. That's my theory, at least. They stop thinking, cling the wheel, and FLIP OUT.

*gives you some of the hazy Illinois sun peeking through the clouds...and the stupid wind*

I really wanted to beat my head on the dash this morning. JUST DRIVE!!!! grrrrr...

And thanks for the sun, but you can keep the wind. We have plenty of our own.

I know! It's so sad that it rained less in Seattle this weekend than it did here. Sigh.

[identity profile] leighblack.livejournal.com 2005-06-15 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I just feel so waterloggged.

[identity profile] amazonqueenkate.livejournal.com 2005-06-15 01:12 pm (UTC)(link)
No freakin' kidding. Usually, I want to beat people over the head when they drive like fucktards.

But I don't WANT it. It screws up my blinds, it threw the storm door open this morning so it smashed into my elbow, and my car doesn't like the wind. So I don't want the wind. Sigh.

[identity profile] leighblack.livejournal.com 2005-06-15 01:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Tell me about it. I was up well into the night listening to my blinds clack together from the wind. But too stubborn to get up and close the window.

[identity profile] amazonqueenkate.livejournal.com 2005-06-15 01:28 pm (UTC)(link)
The noises creeped me out a ton, the blinds smacking the wall and stuff. Especially the blinds right by my HEAD. So that window got itself closed big time. (Since I didn't have to get up to close it.)

[identity profile] leighblack.livejournal.com 2005-06-15 01:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I would have had to get up and walk like 50 feet to the living room, so that definitely wasn't happening.

See, for being a shoebox, my room has two very nice windows, one of which is right next to my head. (This does get a little creepy, however, since I can see every shadow of the outside world, and sometimes, I get paranoid and start seeing things.)

I did have one of the living room windows open, and it was sending a plastic bag that I'd left on the floor skittering across the kitchen. THAT was creepy. I didn't know what it was, but I kept hearing it as I was on the computer, and it thoroughly frightened me.

Being alone at night is not always the best thing for me, especially since I tend to not logically figure out what noises are noises and why.

Did I mention that I like your new icon? Because I do. Is teh pretty.

I'm so the opposite of you. I get annoyed when people are around. My aunt popped over the other day and was yapping so much that I couldn't wait for her to leave. I need my quiet!

[identity profile] amazonqueenkate.livejournal.com 2005-06-15 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you! It's for my 100 icons for [livejournal.com profile] icons100, which are going to be all Crossing Jordan. I have 11 or 12 of them done, which I will post whenever I get officially approved into the community.

Oh, I don't really like people being around and talking to me, but I do get kinda creeped out sometimes. I'm not used to being totally alone, with no upstairs or next-door neighbors, and I'm becoming a little paranoid that I might become a pretty easy mark for creeps and crime. (Especially since I don't exactly live in the nicest of areas.)

Yeah, thought about joining that, but decided I really shouldn't promise away more time that I don't really have. And I should get caught up on other things I've promised myself to.

Well, just look tough and they'll leave you alone.

Heheh, and I have too much time on my hands. I might as well make icons. (Besides, it's a creative outlet I desperately need. Because I've been watching waaay too much TV.)

Or wield a frying pan. Frying pans are good weapons.

So YOU'RE getting all the rain.

For like a month, every day "chance of showers" and we've had nada. C'mon.... my tomato plants need rain!!!! It's rained north, south, east and west of us, and we've had MAYBE three incidents of very light spinkles.

[identity profile] leighblack.livejournal.com 2005-06-15 05:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Ohhhhh, you can have it!

They tell us everyday that there's a slight chance of rain. And then it rains for hours.
