leighblack: (Me - Me & Chaddy in Lincoln)

*grrrrrr* Something is wrong with my DSL modem. *kicks* But I seem to be online again now, so I'm going to try to write this. I will be doing my usual detailed entry for each Faster Pussycat show I was at. I'm working on getting all my photos edited and posted first though, so I wanted to get a quick recap in for everyone to read now.

Friday/Lincoln: The first show. And I had to PAY to get in. What?!? Chad kept talking to me from way back behind the drums. I even understood him some of the time. He came over to us after the show and we hung out for a long, long time. He even bought me a Jager shot to make up for the fact that he forgot about me! Michael somehow remembered me from the Fastback show last year. I met FP's new guitar tech, Chris, and made sure to talk to Sean, their tour manager, about getting into the next shows. ;) We all ended up talking on the sidewalk outside the bar until I noticed Chad was yawning and let him go to rest.

Saturday/Cedar Rapids: Lots of friends at this show. The bands played outside, on a truck trailer. It turned out pretty cool though. I made Xristian take a photo with me outside in the daylight, to prove that he didn't explode in a puff of smoke in sunlight. He declared that I'm their Super Fan. =/ I ended up covered in booze by the end of Faster's set. We spent a lot of the show cheering for Xristian's gay flying V. =) There was a huge crowd of people hanging out after the show. We all went into the bar, where there was a cover band playing. Eventually, some of the guys got on stage and did a couple songs while the other band took a break. We finally said goodbye and went to do karaoke while the buses took off for a strip club.

Sunday/Mpls: A gig at home! The show was AMAZING that night! The best one I saw, by far. BT did a small set of GN'R songs as Straws N' Noses, to try to make up for Adler not being there. I saw a bunch of people I haven't talked to in a while. The bar lined up all the fans in a line for the meet n' greet after the show. Sean walked by and asked if I got photos with everybody and I told him that I don't wait in line. He said "of course, you don't! You get preferred treatment." =) I kept cutting into the line to bring drinks to the boys and to talk. I was standing with Kace as she got her CD signed when I heard my name yelled. I looked up to see Taime sticking his tongue out at me. Seriously, I rarely ever talk to T, but he motioned me to come over and get a hug from him. Odd. We hung out for a VERY LONG TIME. Hours. There were shenanigans going on. And dancing to Prince. And porn. We finally left when T got fed up with everybody being around and then went out to eat before crashing at my place.

Tuesday/Cleveland: 12 1/2 hour drive. And over $17 in tolls! Yuck. But I got to see Billy Morris again and see Chad get all squealy over him. The show was plagued with sound problems and they cut two songs out of the set. I met a couple people at the show, so I didn't have to stand like a dork by myself. I was pretty tired and didn't feel like hanging out much after the show, so I left earlier than normal. Chad asked me to please come up to the show early the next day because he needed me to take me a couple places. I agreed to do it, then went back to the hotel to crash.

Wednesday/Detroit: I got to The Hayloft around 2:30. I waited while Chad put his kit together. I waited while he waited for Tony from their record company to show up. I took a nap on the couch in the back. I waited while they did sound check. I finally gave up and got ready for the show, since it was obvious we weren't going anywhere. Sammi met me at the bar, and I ended up talking to a bunch of other people too. I bought A LOT of drinks for Chad. Way more than he deserved. The show was pretty good. Chad kept talking to me from the stage again. And he tried to pose for photos, but Michael kept walking into my shot. The bar tried to set up some meet n' greet thing and I had to say "I'm with the band" so we wouldn't get kicked out. I hate that. Sammi & I hung out for a while, then finally left after getting lots of hugs.

Thursday/Bay City: The last show. It's always bittersweet. My voice was completely shot at this point and I was exhausted, but I was determined to enjoy the evening. The crowd was full of big, angry, drunk guys. Boo. The sound wasn't too good and Xristian was having guitar issues again. At one point, Sean, Chris and BT's roadie Jeff were all cheering for me from the side of the stage. Weird. We hung out for a long time after the show, eventually moving over to do karaoke at the bar next door. I got much drunker than I wanted to be, but it was okay. I knew I had to leave eventually and it was really hard to go. Lots of love and hugs were exchanged all around. Chad walked me out to my car so that I could talk to him alone for a moment and say goodbye. I ended up bursting into tears on the way back to the hotel. More out of exhaustion and being so emotional than anything else. It's not often that I get to hear that I'm appreciated and loved, so it kind of tipped me over the edge. I fell into bed and crashed hard once I was back at the hotel.

I'm so glad that I was able to go out with my boys for so many days and see so many of my friends! I met a ton of great new people, and got reacquainted with a lot of folks I've met when I've been out and about before. I can never, ever thank everyone on the tour enough for taking care of me and for being such utter sweethearts. Michael for telling me that the shows wouldn't be the same without me there. Xristian for assuring me that I'm not at all scary and they like having me around. Sean for always making sure that I got in okay and for repeatedly checking to see that I was doing all right. Chris for getting me whatever I needed and for almost beating the crap out of big drunk guys bothering me. =) And Chad...well, I don't even know what to say about him. I don't think I'd do this if he wasn't in the band anymore. I never feel like I'm just another girl in the crowd when he's there. I know that he really appreciates having me around. Even when he annoys the hell out of me, I'm still grateful that we're friends. I miss them all so much already!

He did indeed ask about you. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about him. He was the sweetest thing the whole time I was out with them!

Believe me, I understand. It's kind of a blow to go from being loved and adored and having people say they're happy to see me and we need to hang out more often to coming home where not one member of my family or any of my friends has called to ask how I am or how my trip was. (that was the longest sentence ever) Boo.

But you, of course, are loved! How could you not be???
